Ionic is the largest of the rooms on the Goulburn Street level, opening directly into the main foyer. Deeply versatile, it hosts breakfast meetings, banquet dinners, full-day conferences and networking cocktail functions, and its 320 square metres make it ideal for smaller table-top exhibitions or as a major breakout for larger conferences.

How many guests does the Ionic Room hold?

Where is the Ionic Room in the building, and is it accessible?
The Ionic Room is on the Goulburn Street level of the Sydney Masonic Centre at 66 Goulburn Street, Sydney CBD — a short walk from Central, Museum and Town Hall stations. All twelve SMC spaces are fully accessible.
What AV is built into the Ionic Room?
Built-in screen, projection and sound, sized for breakfasts, dinners and conference sessions of up to 280. Everything is run by SMC's in-house audiovisual team with digital concierge support, and the Centre has dedicated internet up to 1 Gbps — so there's no third-party AV hire to arrange.
Can the Ionic Room be combined with other spaces?
Yes. Opens into the main foyer. SMC's twelve rooms are designed to run together — a plenary with breakout rooms, or the Ionic Room with the Marble Foyer for arrival drinks. Tell us your numbers and our team will suggest the right combination.
Is catering available in the Ionic Room?
Yes — all catering is cooked in the building by SMC's in-house chefs, from working lunches and conference breaks to plated gala dinners and canapé receptions. Menus are on our Catering page and can be tailored to your event.
